Opener Allison Iraheta was just bad. Looking too thin, she spent her 20-minute, five-song set overwrought over-emoting, hollering and screaming, without regard to whether she’s singing actual notes.

Iraheta has a couple of really good songs – “Friday I’ll Be Over You” and, especially, “Don’t Waste the Pretty,” on which Orianthi played guitar – that are hard to not sing well, but she did. And her version of Pat Benatar’s “Heartbreaker” was worse.

Speaking of “Idol,” Lambert’s lineup includes fellow 2009 ‘Idol’ contestant Allison Iraheta as one of his opening acts. The fiery redhead lived up to her hair color, belting out six songs and sounding strong on each one.

Iraheta was a much better vocalist than the show’s other opener, Orianthi, who at least made up for it with her amazing guitar playing. While Iraheta has a powerful voice, she doesn’t push it to yelling, as Orianthi did more than once. Orianthi’s great guitar playing was assisted by some more great work by bandmate and Upper Mount Bethel Township resident Brian Chiusano.

    who wrote that “bad” review? Was it for a publication? I’ve seen bad performers before, and she’s not one of them. This person obviously had an axe to grind for some reason. Other reviewers have had minor critiques of different performances, which is normal. This person was just having a bad day and took it out on Allison vindictively …I think the reviewer was “just bad”…

    Every time Allison open her mouth & sing she always give her 110% best.I can see her as a dedicated singer.Sometime she give her song a bit of twist w/c i find amazing & pushing 4ward.I don’t find her ”too thin” though,,its juz right,,maybe she’s growing & body change w/c is a good thing.

    So now that we have vids, after watching all the vids, that reviewer was just deaf or brain dead. I later saw the same reviewer give a stellar review to Selena Gomez, who was headlining one of the nights. That explains so much why he didn’t like Allison, she is the ANTI Disney girl.
